Come out and work with expert furniture maker David Southern to learn about basic wood finishing! He will teach you how to properly finish a variety of woods including the steps for sanding and preparing for other treatments like stain, die and paint. M4Reactor, the eastern shore’s first makerspace is announcing a public open house on Saturday, September 16th from 10 am until noon. Individuals and families are invited to tour the facility and learn about the educational opportunities for all ages. Check out their youth summer camps and after school programs, adult programs ranging from crafts to craftsmanship, maker membership, and our upcoming skills training for the unemployed. M4Reactor is located in the Tri-County Council Multipurpose Center across Rt 50 from Wor-Wic. The address is 31901 Tri-County Way, Suite 135, Salisbury MD 21804.
M4Reactor’s primary goal is to provide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) based education and learning opportunities. M4 is starting with a bank of eight 3D printers, 2 laser cutters, a cnc machine, a soldering and electronics station, multiple computers for 2D CAD, 3D CAD and graphics, a wood and metal shop and a various spaces for education and collaboration.

SUMO Robot Competition Club
1st & 3rd Tuesdays from 4pm-5:30pm // grades 6-12
We will be building, programming and competing in our own SUMO Robot League. This club provides for an exploratory learning opportunity where students will be given instruction on the basics of SUMO robots but are expected to research and further develop their robots under the instructors guidance. Students will be provided a budget for upgrading their robot.
