Frequently Asked Questions
Classes
We wish we could open our doors free to the public. However that would require funding from somewhere else to make happen. There is a substantial cost to running a shop like M4Reactor including rent, utilities, insurance and more but also paying for consumables and maintenance on equipment.
Classes
Nope! You do not have to be a member to take a class. Members usually get discounts on classes - anywhere from $5 to $25 off depending on the class.
Space Access
Yes. You must be at least 14 to take "adult" classes in the space. If you are under 18 you must have parent or guardian sign your authorization/waiver to access M4Reactor.
Some classes are for younger students and those would be listed in the class description.
We reserve the right to make exceptions to this rule.
If you are using the shop area, please wear pants and close toed shoes (preferably boots). We reserve the right to deny access to someone who is dressed in a way that would endanger them.
Our space is handicapped accessible however not all of our shop or machinery areas may be.

Yes, some of our classes may be "tested out" of. Please contact us directly at [email protected] to schedule this.
Not yet! As we get busier, this may be a procedure we have to implement for some equipment.
For most equipment in the space, there is no additional cost for operation.
This depends on the specific machine. Machine specific tools will be provided. E.g. bands blades, table saw blades, sanding belts, and sanding wheels. If you want an answer on a specific consumable please email us at [email protected] Sometimes, M4Reactor employees may lend you some staff tooling, we are being generous when we do this. This is not our policy, so please don't expect this on a regular basis.
For the 3D Printers, you are welcome to use any 3D filament we have here.
We have a lot of storage options! Ranging from a locker to hang your coat (free for members) to large lockers (small fee for members).
Find a staff member and inform them of the issue.
This is handled on a case-by-case basis. Please let us know if equipment is damaged or breaks!
We have a variety of materials available for purchase but not necessarily a regular supply of all materials. Just ask us!
